Watch on The solution is actually to replace the fuse! The only part you need is a 60 pence resettable fuse! Buy 10 or more for 30p. These are self-resetting fuses, not your standard one-off break fuses. They allow power to run for a specific period of time before cutting it.
The mirror itself doesn't move via the drivers joystick control switch, neither does it fold in or out. Driver's wing mirror functions perfectly. All windows and central locking seem to work fine on both sides. I've checked fuses #8 and #15 in the dash fuse box and they are intact.
Couple of minor issues with my 9-5 mirrors. They work, in so much as the electrically adjust from the switch, but they don't tilt when the car is put into reverse. Also, I noticed that the mirrors don't heat up, as the condensation didn't clear the other day. thanks.

Saab 9-5 2.0T '2004 My electrical mirrors does only work sideways but not up and down. I have tried replacing the switch without any luck. This problem applies to both mirrors.
Nothing happens when I try to operate the power mirrors. When I was troubleshooting an airbag light I tested the wire to the switch. There was power to one wire. So, I assume it is not the fuse. Are switches known for going bad? I tried to by pass the switch by connecting the power wire to other wires in the harnes but nothing happennes
